<![CDATA[THE PRECIOUS DROP]]>Fri, 24 Apr 2015 15:06:50 GMThttp://sheidafashionista.com/3/post/2015/04/the-precious-drop.html
Kactus by The Precious Drop is a premium organic skincare extract. It has a high concentrate of Vitamin E, antioxidants, essential fatty acids and Omega 3 & 6. So what does this all mean? The antioxidants stops the ageing process by stimulating cell regeneration, heals the dark circles and bags under your eyes, helps remove acne, brings back elasticity (which helps reduce saginess of skin and stretch marks), and its anti-inflammatory properties helps sooth sunburns. Okay so thats a lot of pros for a little bottle, right? I mean I'm not a chemistry savvy person but with all this information written inside the gold box and on their website its definitely worth a try, especially if your tackling with some of those issues mentioned.

I put The Precious Drop to test, and i don't mean for one day, but for a good two months now, as you can see, i received it on Valentines Day. So here are my thoughts and review of this product:

I used the Kactus at night time, after washing my face, and getting rid of the days makeup, i would apply the content to my face and go to sleep, allowing the product enough time on my face to do its magic! As the little bottle has a nozzle and is an oily substance i was a little weary to put it on my face, especially as i have oily skin, however once applied it completely gets absorbed and you can go to bed knowing your pillow will be oil free. And whats more, your skin feels fabulously soft! I used the product between 3-5 nights a week (whenever i remembered) for the last two months and and it was perfect timing, as it helped prep my face for my wedding day! The days after the application i woke up with my face feeling as soft as a baby's bottom (as they say) and more plump. My skin felt vitalised and i definitely loved my morning face after applying The Precious Drop the night before. And may i add that this little bottle lasts quite a while! I used four drops every night which covered my whole face and neck and after two months I'm still using it, and it has plenty to keep me going for the next couple of months. Im not a person that moisturises or exfoliates as regularly as i should, so with just a few drops a night i felt quite a big change in my skin.Im taking this little gem on my honeymoon with me, to help bring back the moisture of my skin after the many hours under the sun!

<![CDATA[FAKE UP & PUFF OFF]]>Wed, 18 Mar 2015 20:28:33 GMThttp://sheidafashionista.com/3/post/2015/03/fake-up-puff-off.html
So we've all heard a lot of hype about Benefit's recently launched Fake Up and Puff Off. Well i put them both to the test for you ladies. Firstly as always, Benefit must be by far one of the makeup brands with the most amazing packaging. I mean i don't know who this creative genius is but owning anything from this brand makes me happy just by looking at the packaging!

Firstly, the 'Fake Up' is as written on the product itself a 'Hydrating Crease Control Concealer'. As cliche as it is sounds, it literally does as it says on the packaging. The concealer itself is in the centre of the 'stick' if you like, surrounded by the moisturiser product, so as you apply the concealer your applying the moisturiser at the same time, and the texture comes out creamy but very light, it doesn't actually feel like your applying makeup on, rather just an eye cream; but of course your concealing as you do. As the product comes out in this creamy texture unlike the dry finish of most concealers, no creases or cracks appear after. Now for the actually concealing? Its actually does a pretty good job. I wouldn't recommend this if you had really dark circles and looking for total coverage, but its perfect for every day use otherwise. I never actually wear concealer unless I'm attending events or on a night out or basically anywhere where flash photography is going to be used, so this is perfect for me for all other occasions. However I've only tried the medium colour, so i'd be interested to know how the lighter colour looks against my skin also (we all know I'm guilty of the too - light - for - me - under eye concealer, a la Kim Kardashian)!

The Puff Off is marketing at its best! With an image of a steam iron on the front, you open the lid to find exactly that, an iron shaped head, where as you squeeze the tube, the content comes out of the iron and you literally smoothen the gel product with the iron head across your skin. It even makes me laugh typing this. Its just pure creativity! Anyway, so the product reads, 'Instant eye gel to help smooth the look of puffies'. The content is like a creamy moisturiser. After smoothening along my under eyes with the iron i did have to use my finger to set the product in the skin slightly, and then a slight tingly sensation starts, and a few minutes later, your eyes will feel like they just had some sort of spa treatment on them as they feel wider open and somehow a little more fresh and less drowsy than before, and indeed your eye looks less puffy. and the product is completely absorbed into the skin. Ive even applied the product to one eye and left the other eye without and minutes later i ran my finger across my bags and i could actually feel the one without the product more puffy! Amazing! Perfect for those days your running out of the house late and your eyes look like balloons cause you woke up like ten minutes ago! :)

<![CDATA[THE THEATRICAL]]>Sun, 30 Nov 2014 13:12:03 GMThttp://sheidafashionista.com/3/post/2014/11/the-theatrical.html
I went for a slightly different look for my third look at the VFDE. Mixing neutrals with a gorgeous green on the bottom lash line and a slightly theatrical touch of adding the black circles. Not one to have my lips so light but it helped emphasise the eyes and my funky hairstyle for this look.

<![CDATA[WHAT'S IN THE BAG: CLARINS EDITION]]>Sun, 26 Oct 2014 09:45:40 GMThttp://sheidafashionista.com/3/post/2014/10/whats-in-the-bag-clarins-edition.html
I tend to shop quite a lot in Sephora, to a point where i have to deliberately avoid walking into the store as i spend ages in there and love to buy all sorts of new products from all the various brands they sell. And with the card programme in Sephora (Middleesat) you get rewarded for all the time and money you spend there (ok so maybe just money). And i recently got this gift from Sephora which was a bag of 'Hydra Boosters' from Clarins. It included a Moisture-Rich Body Lotion with Shea butter, which smells amazing and is now in my hand bag for when my hands get dry. A HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase which i apply on my face from time to time to keep the moisture in from all the makeup and damages the weather cause my skin. And a Relax Body Treatment Oil which again smells so good, reminds me of luxury massages where they use amazingly scented oils to make you relax and release the tension in your body. Three brilliant products. Thank you Sephora and Clarins for the perfect gift.

<![CDATA[WHAT'S INSIDE THE BOX? BENEFIT/SWAROVSKI EDITION]]>Sun, 26 Oct 2014 09:07:09 GMThttp://sheidafashionista.com/3/post/2014/10/whats-inside-the-box-benefitswarovski-edition.html
Attending the 'Benefit Loves Swarovski' event, i received this beautiful gift box, where inside was the bling brow kit, with the Swarovski crystals, all with glue readily applied on the back ready to use, the new Majorette blush, which smells absolutely delicious. I think this product is perfect for applying on a bare face just to add a pop of colour to make you look more fresh; rather than a full face as the substance is quite creamy - i feel like it would rub away my foundation (especially if applied with the finger). Its such a pretty shade, perfect for a trip to the beach or the really hot days of Dubai.

Also in the box was gift vouchers for the Benefit's brow bars to use their services. I've heard so much about it, but yet to try so its definitely on my to do list. Another favourite piece is the beautiful Swarovski necklace, a pendant ball of Swarovski crystals on a black strap. Looking forward to wear this beauty.

<![CDATA[NEW LIPPY'S]]>Mon, 13 Oct 2014 07:15:01 GMThttp://sheidafashionista.com/3/post/2014/10/new-lippys.html
My two new lippy's from Mac Cosmetic's are Pink Plaid, and Faux. I've realised i have become somewhat obsessed with darkish nudes like 'Faux' having bought so many that look almost the same, but they so are not! lol. Or so i tell myself to justify my addiction. I absolutely love this tone on my lips, so creamy, velvety and pigmented. I do also own quite a few pink's, however after applying the 'Pink Plaid' on my lips, i realised it's not as pigmented as i'd like it to be. Generally i try to buy the matte colours more because they are more rich and last longer, but clearly not in this case. Unfortunately the 'Pink Plaid' even though is a beautiful colour won't go down in my favourite's pile.

<![CDATA[LOUBOUTIN NAILS]]>Mon, 13 Oct 2014 06:56:02 GMThttp://sheidafashionista.com/3/post/2014/10/louboutin-nails.html
Louboutin nails, screams luxury and sexy in one. The beautiful packaging mimicking that of their famous stable red soled high heels. The Rouge nail polish was the first of a line of colours which were later released. Rightfully so as the inspiration behind the red sole was the woman's red nail polish.

I absolutely adore the gorgeous packaging, and its definitely a product not to be put away in the draw with the rest of the polishes (not that it would fit anyway) but to be displayed on the dressing table with all its glory.

Applying the polish however wasn't one of its pros. The product itself was long lasting and i wore the red nails for a good week, however the application itself proved to be somewhat difficult. The long heel-like lid was a little heavy (of course comparing to its counterparts) and as we all, already have difficulties applying the right hand using our left, it was a bit hard to hold due to its weight. Nevertheless, you will get used to it, as it is a new concept for our little hands. :)

<![CDATA[MY NEW CURLING IRON]]>Sun, 28 Sep 2014 11:16:26 GMThttp://sheidafashionista.com/3/post/2014/09/my-new-curling-iron.html
Being born with straight hair, you always want the opposite, and believe me i have tried every possible way to make my had curly. Starting from eleven years of age when i went for a permanent perm, which i honestly believe has affected my natural hair! Maybe the products went into my roots i don't know! haha. Jokes aside, i had such silky straight hair before that, that i couldn't even put a clip inside it, it would fall straight out. Either way, i used to think straight hair is boring and i badly wanted curls. So i done the crazy thing and at that age, i remember my father not talking to me for a week after! haha.

Next was my school days, i was young but nonetheless very creative. I used section my hair and wrap not so big strands (because it was impossible) around a pencil! I then used to hairspray the bunch and use a hairdryer to dry it into shape. Oh Lord, i don't know what i was thinking at the time. It would probably take me whole day to do that and i probably looked like a poodle after.. lol. Oh dear.

So next, now a little older and wiser (if you like) in highshchool, i bought my first pair of GHD Straighteners and i have been curling my hair with them eve since, if i wanted tight curls i would bunch up less hair, and bigger waves, more hair strands in the bunch. Using GHD straighteners is not the easiest way of creating curls or waves of course, there is a specific product made for that and thats the curling iron, or tongs or curling wand, or whatever you want to call it. I just don't understand why i have never in all these years ever bought one. I guess i was just used to using my GHDs and didn't think of an alternative. But boy could i have saved myself time and effort.

I bought these new curling irons, E-Rod, from my salon: 'Pastels' in The Ritz Carlton on JBR, for i think under 500AED . And it is such a relief! Curling my hair with GHD's always resulted with one particular part of my hair that just didn't want to curl, and it stressed me out so much, especially if i was rushing to get ready. But using the E-Rod is so easy, and the perfect result every time. So much quicker to use, and the curls last so much longer! You do have to mind your fingers mind, but otherwise I'm kind of slapping myself for not investing in one all those years.
